Annual SHRED-A-THON event

For the last number of years our Rotary Club has partnered with the City of Port Moody, BEST Shredding and the Tri-Citiy News to have a Shred-a-Thon once a year, just after tax season.

We set up in the roundabout in front of Port Moody City Hall. Residents drive up, give their donation and then continued to the opposite side of the roundabout where our team unloadd their confidential papers into bins. Once the large bins are full, they’s be rolled over to the shredding trucks, hydraulicly lifted into the hopper and shredded on site.

The community really shows up for this event. It’s held from 9am – 3pm and there is a steady line of cars from 9am till the truck is full or 3pm. Coming early is always the best option. Some people come with a small bag of papers, others arrive with their SUVs stacked with boxes of old papers.

The residents of Port Moody love this service and we are so grateful for all the donations received.
